Swanyee is building natural resources back better to create a more productive, safe and sustainable environment. Mangrove is vital role to reduce disaster risk by restoring environmental services of flood mitigation.
The mangrove forest cover most of the coastal areas in Myanmar, in some areas where these forests have been managed on a sustainable basis, the mangroves played a key role in reducing disaster and the impacts on livelihoods.
Swanyee is one of the founding members of MERN (Mangrove and Environmental Rehabilitation Network) which was established with 17 member organizations. Swanyee aims to ensure sustainable use of natural resources and to promote environmentally sound practices. Swanyee believes environmental protection is one of the primary objectives in seeking sustainable development.
